This Socialisation Module is for EVERY puppy owner!
Your puppy's CRITICAL SOCIALISATION PERIOD is between roughly 8-16 weeks of age.
If your puppy is in this age group, then we recommend reading the attached SOCIALISATION EBook, and watching the videos ASAP, to ensure that you start socialising your puppy correctly before they are 16 weeks of age.
If your puppy is over 16 weeks of age, then they will still greatly benefit from the implementation of correct socialisation. These socialisation activities are also required to help your puppy with any behaviour issues such as fear or reactivity, that may have occurred from lack of correct socialisation during it's missed Critical Socialisation Period.
You will find additional practical activities through the weekly lessons, on habituation to sounds & machinery, and building confidence, which are also all part of your pup's socialisation.
This is your first week of practical skills training for your puppy. The main focus is on building relationship and engagement with your puppy, especially when they are on the lead and out in public, as well as a clear reward and communication system.
Spending time on these basics this week and over the next few months, will help set a solid foundation for all further training with your puppy, both now and throughout their adult life.
